Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the JakeMakes website (https://jakemakes.com.au) and any services provided by BetaFish Pty Ltd (ABN 21 688 363 840), trading as JakeMakes, based in Adelaide, South Australia.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our services.

Our services

JakeMakes provides 3D printing and CAD design services, including:

  • CAD Design — custom 3D modelling from sketches, photos, or ideas
  • 3D Printing — FDM printing in PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, and specialty filaments
  • Full Service — end-to-end design and printing, from concept to finished part

Service descriptions on the website are for general guidance. The exact scope and specifications for your project will be agreed upon in your quote.

Quotes and pricing

  • All quotes are free, provided in Australian dollars, and valid for 14 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are exclusive of GST unless explicitly marked as GST-inclusive.
  • We reserve the right to adjust a quote if the project scope changes after the quote is issued. We'll always discuss this with you before proceeding.
  • We offer a price match guarantee. If you receive a lower quote for an equivalent service, send it through and we'll do our best to match it.

Orders and payment

  • An order is confirmed when you accept a quote in writing (email is fine) and any agreed deposit has been received.
  • Payment is by invoice. Payment terms are 7 days from the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
  • We may require a deposit of up to 50% for larger or custom projects before work begins.

Turnaround times

We aim to complete most standard prints within 24 hours. However, turnaround times are estimates and not guaranteed. Actual completion times depend on print complexity, size, material, and current workload.

We'll always give you a clear timeline when you accept a quote. If there are any delays, we'll let you know as soon as possible.

Intellectual property

  • Your designs — you retain full ownership of any designs, models, or files you provide to us. We will not use, share, or reproduce your designs without your permission.
  • Designs we create for you — when we create CAD designs as part of a paid project, full ownership of those designs transfers to you upon final payment.
  • Portfolio use — we may photograph completed projects for use in our portfolio and marketing materials. If you prefer your project to remain private, just let us know and we'll respect that.

File uploads

By uploading files through our contact form or other channels, you confirm that:

  • You have the legal right to use and share those files with us
  • The files do not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • The files do not contain malicious code or harmful content

We are not responsible for verifying the intellectual property status of files you provide. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle uploaded files.

Quality and reprints

We take pride in every print. If your order arrives with a quality issue or does not match the agreed specifications:

  • We will reprint the affected part at no extra charge.
  • Please notify us within 7 days of receiving your order, including photos of the issue.
  • Reprints are offered for quality defects and specification mismatches — not for changes of mind on design, material, or colour choices that were agreed upon in the quote.

We do not offer cash refunds. Our reprint policy is provided in addition to (and does not replace) your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Cancellations

  • Before production starts — you may cancel your order for a full refund of any deposit paid.
  • After production starts — cancellations are not accepted once printing or design work has begun, as materials and time have been committed.

If you need to make changes to an order that's already in progress, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

Shipping

  • We ship Australia-wide with tracked delivery services.
  • Risk of loss or damage passes to you once the order is dispatched and a tracking number is provided.
  • Adelaide customers may arrange local pickup — ask about same-day collection for eligible orders.
  • If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, please let us know and we'll work with the carrier to resolve it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BetaFish Pty Ltd's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other applicable Australian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

If our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law, we limit our liability (where permitted) to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page. Continued use of our website or services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
